The Katakamuna spiral on the back of my dragon oracle card — the moment something lit up inside me.
🌿 Lead-In
I had heard of Katakamuna — those mysterious Japanese spirals of sound and spirit — long before I stumbled across a dragon oracle deck online.
But when I saw the spiral on the back of one of the cards, something lit up inside me.
✨ I had to get it.
It wasn’t just the dragons.
It was the echo of ancient vibration that called to me —
Katakamuna chose me, too.
🌀 The Oracle Card and the Ancient Utahi
On the back of the card was this verse:
Umashi‑Takakamu Ashikahi‑Hiko Tokoro‑Chimata no Toki Okashi
Later I learned it was from the 8th Katakamuna Utahi.
It speaks of:
The power to create perfect time-space — wherever and whenever you are
The name Umashi‑Takakamu Ashikahi‑Hiko refers to the fourth deity in the Kojiki, a god of beginnings. His energy expands infinitely, radiating in all directions — symbolized by the number 8.
Katakamuna itself is an ancient sound-symbol system from Japan. Its characters are made entirely of circles, semicircles, and lines, representing vibrational resonance, not conventional writing.
Katakamuna script: circular symbols expressing sound, spirit, and resonance.
🔹 Names as Living Vibrations
In Katakamuna and many sacred traditions, names are not just labels.
They are vibrational codes, each syllable a carrier of energy and essence.
📝 Note: Japanese is a language where all sounds include vowels. This means foreign names often can’t be directly written in Katakamuna. But recent studies have developed ways to interpret non-Japanese names vibrationally, too — by adapting their sound patterns.
