🌠 Lead-in

This is Part 9 (③-9) in our Katakamuna sound series—today we explore the sacred sound “Ke”「ケ」.

A sound of emission and release—the movement of something held within into the world beyond.

Where the previous sound, “Ku”, brought things together, “Ke” introduces a contrasting movement—releasing what has been held within and allowing it to flow outward.

🌀 Welcome Back – Entering the Sound of “Ke”:「ケ」

Today, we enter the sacred sound “Ke”—

a sound associated with releasing what has been held within.

Imagine a vessel filled with water. When its opening is uncovered, the water begins to flow outward.

This simple movement offers a way to understand “Ke.”

In Nobuko Yoshino’s interpretation of Katakamuna, “Ke” represents emission or release—the movement of something contained within being allowed to emerge.

Unlike an intentional message sent toward a receiver, this release does not require a particular destination.

What was once contained is now free to move beyond its original boundaries.

🌀 Sound “Ke”: The Power of Release

Release is an essential part of the natural world.

A flower releases its fragrance into the air.

A ripe seed pod opens, scattering its seeds into the surrounding earth.

A volcano releases heat, gases, and molten rock from deep within the Earth.

Although these processes differ, each illustrates something that was once contained emerging into the world.

Release does not necessarily mean loss or rejection. It can be a natural process through which something takes on a new form or becomes part of a larger environment.

Seen this way, “Ke” invites us to consider the role of release in the continuing cycles of nature and life.

💠 Symbol

The Katakamuna symbol for “Ke”「ケ」 is part of the distinctive system of circular signs used to represent the sacred sounds.

As you look at the symbol, consider the movement from containment to openness.

It offers a visual focus for contemplating the meaning associated with this sound.

✴️ Meaning of “Ke”

Emission / Release / Letting Out / Moving Beyond Boundaries

It is important to distinguish this from two related sounds:

  • “Ri”「リ」 — Separation: The distance between two things increases.
  • “Te”「テ」 — Transmission / Radiation: Information is deliberately sent outward toward receivers.

“Ke”, however, does not require an intended recipient. Its essential meaning lies in the act of release itself.

This distinction helps us understand “Ke” as a movement with its own particular nature, rather than simply another expression of separation.

🔢 Kazutama: 35

The Kazutama of “Ke” is 35.

In Nobuko Yoshino’s interpretation of Katakamuna numerology, each number carries a particular meaning:

3 — Physical Substance / Tangible Form(実体)

5 — Transmission / Being Conveyed(伝わる)

Together, 3 and 5 suggest something tangible being conveyed beyond its original location.

3 + 5 = 8

In this system, 8 represents separation or moving away(離れる).

As something is released, it gradually moves farther from its source.

Through this numerical interpretation, 35 expresses a progression—from something taking form, to being conveyed outward, and eventually moving away.

This is how the Kazutama of “Ke” is understood within Yoshino’s system of Katakamuna interpretation.

🌿 Message of the Day

Today, let the sound “Ke” remind you that not everything needs to be held onto forever.

Sometimes, we carry old thoughts, expectations, or emotions long after they have served their purpose.

Releasing them does not mean denying the past or forgetting what we have learned.

It means allowing ourselves the freedom to move forward without carrying everything with us.

Just as nature releases what is ready to move on, we too can recognize when something has completed its role in our lives.

There is no need to force change or rush toward a new beginning.

Simply notice what you are ready to release—and what space may open within you as a result.

May the sound of “Ke” inspire you to let go with gratitude, trust the natural flow of life, and welcome the possibilities that emerge when you make room for something new.
