A quiet space where purification happens not through words,

Meoto Iwa (Wedded Rocks) — two sacred stones bound together by a shimenawa rope — are a symbol of divine union, harmony, and connection. At Futami Okitama Shrine, the wind moves through the paper streamers (shide), and a small frog statue stands as a messenger of Sarutahiko — the guiding kami of the path.
This quiet moment captures a timeless presence by the sea.
🔔 Temple Bell │ Beyond Year’s End
A new short clip shares the sound of the yakuyoke no kane —
a purification bell from Okadera Temple in Nara.
Though often rung at year’s end,
these bells can be heard throughout the year.
If you ever feel the need to clear your mind or spirit,
this sound is always here for you.
(And by the way, soba noodles aren’t just for New Year’s Eve.
I enjoy them all year long —
especially the flavor of Izumo soba lately.)
🔮 Oracle │ A New Year Offering – January 3
These messages were received in Tenkawa Village,
a sacred place in Nara where Benzaiten is enshrined.
Drawn from a spread of seven oracle cards,
they offered gentle encouragement for the beginning of the year —
a quiet reminder that guidance is always near.
If it speaks to you,
you might simply say:
“I receive Benzaiten’s blessings.”
or
“I receive blessings from my guides.”
Sometimes, the act of saying yes is enough
to open a path forward.
