🌕🐉 Lead-in │ Full Moon Dragon Oracle from Niu Kawakami Shrine Kamisha
The Full Moon is often seen as a time of reflection, illumination, and gentle revelation.
As its light reaches its fullness, it invites us to pause, notice what has been quietly unfolding within us, and listen more closely to our intuition.
The Full Moon of August 28, 2026 coincides with a partial lunar eclipse. Although the eclipse itself is not visible from Japan, this meeting of moonlight and shadow offers a meaningful moment to reflect on what may be coming into view—and what may still be waiting quietly beneath the surface.
This Full Moon Oracle was received during my visit to Niu Kawakami Shrine Kamisha in Nara, Japan—a sacred shrine associated with water, rain, and dragon deities.
Due to the construction of Otaki Dam, the shrine was relocated to its present hillside location in 1998. Its former sacred site was submerged and now lies beneath the waters of Otaki Ryujin Lake.
From the Motomiya Yōhaisho, visitors can offer their prayers toward the submerged former shrine site.
A sign beside the worship place also preserves an old legend known as “The Shrine Maiden’s Prophecy.” It tells of a mysterious shrine maiden who appeared from the surface of the lake and delivered a sacred message.

Before drawing the cards, I placed three small stones inscribed with the characters for Water, Divine Spirit, and Power at the worship place.
Facing the former shrine site beneath the lake, I offered a quiet prayer.

I then found a quiet place within the shrine grounds, laid four Dragon Oracle cards face down upon the stones, and asked which messages wished to come forward for this Full Moon.
Surrounded by water, mountains, and the memory of an ancient sacred place, I slowly turned over the four cards.

White Dragon — Hakuryū

After completing the four-card reading, I drew one additional card for myself.
The card that appeared was Red Dragon — Kōryū, carrying the message:
“Complete each step steadily.”
Red Dragon — a personal reminder to move forward steadily, one step at a time.
This message felt especially appropriate for where I am in my life now.
Red Dragon encourages steady progress through completing each task carefully rather than trying to move forward all at once. It also speaks of bringing order to our surroundings—removing what is no longer needed and giving proper attention to what truly matters.
Recently, I have felt that this is a time not for rushing, but for sorting, organizing, and continuing to build through consistent effort.
Each individual step may seem small, yet every task completed with care becomes part of a stronger foundation. By tending to what is necessary and allowing unnecessary things to fall away, we gradually prepare ourselves to move into the next stage.
